Prepayment charges

Some banks penalize customers about 1-3 per cent of their outstanding principal amount for paying off the loan earlier than the tenure period. Most home loan consumers say that banks should give them a discount for repaying early, rather than charge them. However, there is a rationale behind this. (Will discuss this in detail)
